<description>Progressive Banjo for the Postmodern World</description>
<itunes:subtitle>Progressive Banjo for the Postmodern World</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary>"LaGoy's Latest" is an iTunes-friendly feed of the latest material from Matt LaGoy et al. Matt pushes the boundaries of what one can and cannot (or should and should not) do with a banjo. Alas, some songs have no banjo at all. Stand-up and electric basses, digital sequencers, organs, and various household items fill in the gaps of these often-odd-timed gems.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>This is a pretty straight reading of the song from Radiohead's the Bends. I put brand new strings on the acoustic guitar for this one. I didn't put any banjo in this.</itunes:summary>

    <title>February in July</title>
    <itunes:author>Matt LaGoy</itunes:author>
    <itunes:subtitle>An Instrumental in Seven</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>This song started out as an electronic composition. I gradually replaced various parts with actual recorded parts. The drums remain sequenced (except for the hi hat intro and a snare fill) samples from the Mapex kit. The bass and guitar parts were recorded directly through the Digitech RP-1. The song is in seven and the clave part breaks it into 9-8 plus 5-8, with the 9-8 overlapping the one. I did most of the composition in February, revived it in July and finished it in September.</itunes:summary>

    <itunes:subtitle>a sketch of a song</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>I like to set fires in my backyard. I was doing this a few days ago and it started raining on me. As I walked inside, this song was playing in my head so I went upstairs and recorded it. Pulse problems are abound, as usual. When drumming, I used a brush in my left hand and a stick in my right.</itunes:summary>

    <itunes:subtitle>v1.1</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>This song was playing in my head for a couple weeks before I recorded it. It is now your burden. I don't know what the genre of this is-- modern synth banjo prog? cyberslag? No idea. It seems maybe post-apocalyptic, but like after the terrible terrible robots enslave us all, a human discovers a form of math that drives him to madness in a dystopian robocracy. This is his song.</itunes:summary>

The lyrics made no damn sense so I skipped over about half of them.</itunes:summary>
